Maharashtra attracts highest investments in hotel and tourism sector: Assocham

As per the ANI report, Maharashtra has attracted investments worth over INR 15,500 crore of the total outstanding investments worth over INR 93,400 crore attracted by the hotels and tourism industry in India as of June 2016. These reports were provided by Assocham who conducted the study titled ‘Domestic tourism: Tap the treasure’. Gujarat (14.5 %), Karnataka (12 % approx), Tamil Nadu (10% approx) and West Bengal (9% approx) also figure among the top five states in this regard, highlighted the study prepared by the Assocham Economic Research Bureau (AERB).

TripAdvisor Struggles To Convert Visits Into Bookings – Consumers Spending Less On Site

TripAdvisor may be the world’s most popular travel website at 350m unique visitors a month – but the actual business is going through a rough patch with net income for the first six months of 2016 almost half what it was in 2015: US$62m compared with US$121m.
